Who We Are and Why We Do What We Do

Greetings to my fellow believers in Jesus Christ.

I'm so glad you have come to Unborn Lives Matter.

As we seek to put out more content on the topic of abolishing abortion in Jesus' Name, I thought now would be a good time to share a little bit of who we are and why we do what we do.

For some of you, this may be your first introduction to abolition from a truly biblical perspective. If that's the case, I hope you find it thought provoking and a call to action as we seek to stir up others to love and good works. (Hebrews 10:24)

For others, you may find that reading this post is just a reminder of who you are and why you do what you do. If that is the case, please remember that you are not alone. God is raising up His people around the world to proclaim His Gospel and to speak for those who cannot speak for themselves. I hope you find encouragement in these words.

Who we are:

‭‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭5:20‭-‬21‬ ‭ESV‬‬

"Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, God making his appeal through us. We implore you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God. For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God."

First and foremost, we are Christians, believers in the Lord Jesus Christ, the Only Son of God.

We believe that all mankind has sinned, we fall short of the glory of God. (Romans 3:23) The wages of sin is death. (Romans 6:23)

God is holy and our sins have created a separation between us and God.  (Isaiah 59:2)

The only way we can be justified in the sight of the holy and righteous God is through faith in Jesus Christ. As we saw in our verse, God made Him (Jesus) Who knew no sin to bear the penalty for the sins of those who will repent and believe in Christ alone for salvation. Those who are saved are justified before God and have the promise of eternal life through Jesus Christ. (Romans 6:23)

Because we as Christians have been reconciled to God and have received the message of reconciliation, our main goal is to proclaim the message of the Gospel and to call others to repent of sin and to trust in Christ alone for salvation.

In addition to this task, we at Unborn Lives Matter also focus on rescuing those who are being taken away to death and peacefully calling for justice for the unborn children who are being murdered by abortion. Our reason for this mission also comes directly from the pages of Scripture, the infallible Word of God.

‭‭Genesis‬ ‭1:27‬ ‭ESV‬‬

"So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them."

‭‭Exodus‬ ‭20:13‬ ‭ESV‬‬

“You shall not murder."

‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭24:11‬ ‭ESV‬‬

"Rescue those who are being taken away to death; hold back those who are stumbling to the slaughter."

Every human being, from the moment of conception, is a special creation of God, made in the image of God. Because of this, every human being has inherent value and dignity. God has commanded that you shall not murder. Abortion is the murder of children in the womb, taking of an innocent life, and thus a sin against God and our fellow image bearers. God has charged us to rescue those who are being taken away to death and that is the mission of Unborn Lives Matter.  Since Scripture teaches that life begins at conception, we strive for complete and total abolition of abortion, from the moment of conception, with no exceptions.

Because we are Christians, our message to every person that we encounter is the same, repent and believe the Gospel. Only by God changing hearts will we see abortion truly abolished in our day.

In love we call out to mothers and fathers who are seeking abortions. We call them to repent of their sin and turn to Christ. We tell them God's command "You shall not murder." And we point them to Christ in Whom there is forgiveness for those who come to Him.

In love we call out to those who work at abortion clinics, to repent of their sins and believe in Christ. While we hate the heinous sins they commit, we know that we are just as much sinners as they are and we point them to the One Who saved us, though we did not deserve His grace. We love them and desire to see them saved.

In love, we call out to the government to do justice for the unborn children and to protect them under the law, granting unborn humans the same right to life as born humans. We call them to do justly and righteously while we point them to the One Who is truly Righteous.

We call out to our world around us that has embraced the culture of death, and point them to true life which is only available from the Creator of Life, our God and Savior.

This is who we are. It is not because of us, but because of Christ in us. We are His servants and ambassadors.

Would you join us in this mission to proclaim the Gospel and speak for the unborn? Would you start by praying and asking the Lord how He would have you to be involved and then be faithful to follow His direction? Some will be involved through faithful prayer and encouraging those who are involved in other ways.  Some will be in front of abortion clinics speaking to mothers and fathers. Some will be writing to the government and being involved in the political side. There are so many different things that need to be done. The question is, will you be faithful to take the first step the Lord calls you to?

For more information on how to get involved, please reach out to us through email or Facebook messenger. We'd love to hear from you.

In Christ and His service,

Virginia
